Floor Plan of 21st Century Classroom There are many reasons why I want my classroom to look this way. One is that most school rooms are basic square shaped rooms; I wanted the corners to be rounded windows to try to offset the room. The reason there is no desk is that they are traditional and I want the room to be modern, so I put basic long rectangle tables together to form a giant square with chairs all on one side and facing the teachers center square (the middle) where I will give my instruction to the whole class with all their eyes on me and each other. The smartboard is surrounded by computers because this is our research and demonstration area. This means if I have to show them something they all can sit at their computers and just look up. This makes it easier to demonstrate and have them follow along.
